First Colony Beach & Marina

The First Colony beach and marina are located on the James River, which borders First Colony on the west.  All beach and marina facilities are available to current, paid members of the Greater First Colony Area Civic Association.  The marina offers many amenities listed below. All amenities require association membership. Amenities with separate fees are signified with an asterisks "*"

Gate Access - Smart Cards - Each GFCACA paid member household is provided with a unique smart card for the security gate entry and exit from the beach and marina. Please review the marina rules below prior to your first visit. When your membership lapses, your security card will be disabled. See below for Rules and How to use the security gate. Contact the Beach and Marina Chair for further information.

Accessibility - The Party deck has wheelchair ramp access with handrails. Please be cautious on the gravel parking lot and sandy areas.

The beach comes with beautiful views of the James River, historic Jamestown, and awesome sunsets for enjoying with your family, friends, and neighbors. Swimming is limited to within the floating designated area. The fishing pier includes seating, fishing pole holders, and a bait-cutting table, as well as sweeping views of the James River. Many folks gather on the party deck almost every day to relax and watch the sun set over the James River.

Marina Season Fees

• $120 - Ramp Access (required for all options below except kayak/canoe storage)
  
• $240 - Shared Boat Slip
• $480 - Private Boat Slip 
• $360 - Dry Land Storage 
• $240 - Single Jet Ski Dry Land Storage 
• $96   - Kayak, Canoe, or Paddleboard Storage

Gazebo Rental Fee

• $50   - Gazebo Rental 

The gazebo at the beach is available to rent for private parties for up to 50 people with prior reservations for a $50 fee. Please check the Marina Gazebo Calendar above for availability prior to making a reservation. To reserve the gazebo, contact marina and beach chair Andrew Mayfield at firstcolonymarina@gmail.com or 757-254-8118. 

To pay marina or gazebo rental fees,  please click on the appropriate link below to fill out an application and pay by either credit card or check.  If this is your first year requesting permanent/sole-use wet slips or dry storage, please email firstcolonymarina@gmail.com prior to signing up to confirm availability.  Note that fees are good for April 1 - March 31
